Michele C. Bossi, 66, of Orangeburg, SC, passed away surrounded by her loving and devoted family on Tuesday, October 3, 2023. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, October 5, 2023, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the St. Joseph Parish Hall. Michele was born in Winthrop, MA, a daughter of the late Fiore Bossi and Antoinette Porcelline Bossi. She was a graduate of Somerville High School, Somerville Hospital School of Nursing, and received her bachelor's degree and master's degree in Nursing from Chamberlain University. Michele lived a very full and accomplished life. From working as a Registered Nurse specializing in critical care to establishing and running Longwood Plantation Assisted Living Community to care for people in the sunset of their lives, she had a heart of gold and impacted the lives of many people. After she retired from Longwood Plantation, she spent time traveling the world before deciding she was not ready for true retirement. Michele became a nursing educator, teaching the next generation of nurses at Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College. The role Michele loved most of all was being a mom to her children, Sarah and Phillip. Loving, devoted, and supportive, she was a true mama bear who taught her children and others that family is the most important part of life and to always stand up for those who can’t speak for themselves. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church where she was a former Sunday school teacher. Michele is survived by her daughter, Sarah A. Ford; son, Phillip J. Ford; three siblings, Elaine Bossi, Pauline Labouliere (Roger), and Joseph Bossi (Suni); niece, Christa L. Edwards (Nick) and nephew, Joseph Bossi; former spouse, Frederick W. Ford; nieces and a nephew; and many family and friends. The family would also like to express sincere gratitude to Dr. Patricia Riddle for the compassionate and superb care provided.
